State of Ohio, along the Little Miami River in the southwestern part of the state.
Milford, an abbreviated form of foundry ford, was so titled because it was the first safe ford athwart the Little Miami north of the Ohio River, and was the only way for many citizens to reach the small-town mill.
The populace was 6,709 at the 2010 census. The Little Miami Bike Trail, which runs from Newtown to Springfield, Ohio, runs through Milford where a several major hiking trails converge, including the American Discovery Trail, the Sea to Sea Long Distance Hiking Route, and the Underground Railroad Cycling Route.
The town/city is served by the Milford Exempted Village Schools.
The areas known as Milford, Old Milford, and Miami Township were assembled on a survey by John Nancarrow, a Revolutionary War veteran from Virginia.
Miami Township was titled after the Little Miami River and the tribe of Native Americans who once controlled this area.
Milford remains Clermont County's only town/city besides Loveland, which includes parts of Hamilton County.
Milford is home to an EPA Superfund site presently on the National Priorities List, the Milford Contaminated Aquifer.

According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 3.85 square miles (9.97 km2), of which 3.73 square miles (9.66 km2) is territory and 0.12 square miles (0.31 km2) is water. The ethnic makeup of the town/city was 94.6% White, 2.3% African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.8% Asian, 0.4% from other competitions, and 1.6% from two or more competitions.
There were 3,019 homeholds of which 25.3% had kids under the age of 18 living with them, 36.0% were married couples living together, 11.6% had a female homeholder with no husband present, 4.5% had a male homeholder with no wife present, and 47.9% were non-families.
21.4% of inhabitants were under the age of 18; 6.9% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 24.3% were from 25 to 44; 25.5% were from 45 to 64; and 21.9% were 65 years of age or older.
The ethnic makeup of the town/city was 95.08% White, 3.33% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.45% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.32% from other competitions, and 0.67% from two or more competitions.
There were 2,945 homeholds out of which 24.6% had kids under the age of 18 living with them, 39.5% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female homeholder with no husband present, and 47.9% were non-families.
In the town/city the populace was spread out with 22.6% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 28.6% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 21.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
About 4.1% of families and 7.8% of the populace were below the poverty line, including 11.6% of those under age 18 and 11.3% of those age 65 or over.
